Battletech Chicago Merc Corps
Tired of fighting, Rene wants to earn his time in some backwater, then retire far from any combat
[Rene has an air of depression about him. From his mishaven face to the worn look of his clothes, this is a man who has seen some mileage, and they were hard miles to boot.
While his rank (4) is respectable, some tragedy or hardship has befallen him. His boots are scuffed up with a hole in the sole. They use an older fastening technology, laces, indicating he didn’t have even enough, or perhaps was stingy, to afford newer boots.
Rene’s does have a source of pride, however. He keeps his weapons combat ready, although even here, he isn’t using the most modern weapons, preferring second and third generation weapons of proven technology rather than the most up to date technology.
Rene’s tattoos include that of a military unit that was nearly wiped out.
When he is getting ready in the morning, the other players see an obvious battle scar on his left arm and a surgical scar on his chest.
At night, after the normal socializing, Rene withdraws, and other players see Rene injecting himself with some sort of drug. He tries to keep this private.
One of the players investigates and discovers a medication that helps to replace enzymes typically due to a failure of organs.
An unusual feature of his attire is a belt buckle and his hat. He wears an Austrian bill-less cap at all times and also a set of eye lens (his shades). His standard, light, military gear includes the built-in comm, small arms and a combat knife. He commonly wears a white t-shirt with the words “Polka <3”>t worn yet.)
Altogether his attire is a strange mish-mash that appears to lack even an artistic measure of confusion, looking both uncomfortable, dated, clumsy and unfinished.
